The second major blast of the 2010 season has come and gone and by all accounts it was another excellent event put on by the Cajun Elite Shooting Complex in Jennings, Louisiana.  This years event had targets on the Main by NSCA director Robert Crow and Stephen Carswell club manager, as well as Mo Parsons on the FITASC.

Tennessee top gun Wendell Cherry walked away with the win by one over Runner-Up Bobby Fowler who in turn bested M1 Doug Vine by only one target.  Cherry said,

Wendell CherryThe Browning/Briley Mardi Gras Open was a good shoot. The weather was much better than last year. Management had changed to new area’s for each event and that gave the shoot a new look over all, instead of the same old, same old…I was pleased to turn in a 193/200 on top shelf targets.

The two Main courses "Green" and "Purple" seemed to shoot pretty evenly in the scores.  Cherry pointed out that,

The targets were challenging with good variety. I guess the station that stands out in my mind was the true pair of left to right crossers off the tower on purple. The time frame of the shot was very compressed, and shooters that tried to open the gap, had problems.

Joey Bolton, Michelle Wampler and Theo RibbsIn the Shooting Supplies by Sheila FITASC event Gebben Miles notched another win into the stock of his new K-80 over RU Doug Vine and M1 Theo Ribbs.  Junior titles were Joey Bolton in the Main, Theo Ribbs in the FITASC and Justin Fox in the 5-stand.

Michelle WamplerOn the Ladies side California shooter Michelle Wampler pulled out the "double/double" by winning both the Main and FITASC titles.  She bested young top gun Jenni Clark who took RU in both events as well as winning the Ladies 5-stand title.
