Best Sporting Shotguns
The world of sporting shotguns can be confusing with many different brands, models and features available. However we might be able to provide a little clarity. In the list that follows we have arranged popular shotguns that are suitable for sporting clays use by price bracket. We consider popular shotguns to be those in common use in the sport and proven as winners to some degree. You should be able to find something here that will serve well as a competition shotgun.
A suitable shotgun refers specifically to an Over/Under shotgun with either a 30, 32 or 34 inch barrel and a semi-auto shotgun with a 28 or primarily 30 inch barrel. We also rate each gun with a "Use factor" as a way to show which guns have been successful among top shooters in the sport. These are guns that have won numerous and/or world championships. Don’t worry if the ‘Use factor’ is low, these are all good usable shotguns. The list is in no particular order and does not include model grades which will vary in price.
