2012 might mean the Olympics for London but the real shotgun shooting will go down in Hainesville, Illinois at the 34th World Parcours de Chasse Championship. Uh-huh! The World FITASC is coming to town! The event is scheduled to be held at Northbrook Sports Club August 13-19. Northbrook Sports Club is situated about 55 minutes North of Chicago O’Hare International just south of the town of Hainesville. It’s in a fairly populated area so you won’t want for anything and the non-shooters that might happen to come will find plenty to do.
The club has a long history of hosting great FITASC shoots and is no stranger to ‘real’ FITASC targets. Club manager Richie Frisella Jr. has built quite a reputation for setting targets that confound shooters of all skill levels and they enjoyed every one too. The club has a good amount of land and some terrain to work with. They have a huge club house with excellent facilities all around and will be great hosts for this event. It’s going to be epic!
WHAT:
2011 World FITASC Parcours de Chasse Championship. Four days, 200 targets, eight New Style parcours and more traps than you can count. Three day 200 target English Sporting main shot over three courses with two 100 bird English Sporting prelims. 50 bird 5-stand events with new layouts Monday through Wednesday. 5-stand main event Thursday and Friday.

December 9, 2011- Registration for side events in now open on http://www.winscoreonline.com Be aware of what rotation (AM or PM alternating) you plan to sign up for on the FITASC site. Side events will be scheduled opposite.

On the grounds: Shuttles to parcours will be available as well as cart rentals. You will walk from the stand by area to the pegs. Practice pegs will be set up away from the main parcours.

You might use "Campbell Airport, Grayslake, IL" as a general navigation landmark if your GPS doesn’t pick up the club address. Google maps does not recognize the club address. Campbell is just across the street.
HOW:
Driving in, there are many options. All roads lead to Chicago it seems.
FLIGHTS:
Major airports to arrive at will be Chicago O’Hare International (ORD) for most including international shooters and also Chicago Midway (MDW). Both are marked on the map below.
I was able to find four flights already so you can book now.
GROUND TRANSIT:
From the airport it will most likely be by rental car. There will be shuttle tickets available for transport from O’Hare Intl. to the Marriott and from the Marriott to the club. Chicago public transit information can be found at this link if you need it.

Non-US shooters bringing firearms into the country will have to fill out ATF Form 6NIA and return it as early as possible. It can take up to 6 weeks to approve. You can download the form (.pdf) below.
Also you must have a personalized shoot invitation. This can be acquired by emailing the club at: worldfitasc@northbrooksportsclub.org
