Update! 7/14/11: SCORES CAN BE FOUND AT THIS LINK!
Continuing on from the 2009 European Parcours de Chasse Championship and the 2010 Belgium Championship, the popular Orville club, Stand de Tir des Buttes (Orville Ball Trap Club) gets a world championship in 2011. The dates are set for 14-17 July. The club has proved popular among shooters from all points of the globe. It has fantastic hilly and pot holed terrain, good equipment, good staff and a great location in the North of France. It’s just a short drive from Paris really and traffic from the U.K. via the ‘Chunnel’ funnels straight to the location.
The main city in the area is Amiens and is where the host hotels are located. Amiens has one of the best European Cathedrals bar none and the area around this part of France saw the heart of the fighting in WWI. There is plenty for non-shooters to do or for you to make a vacation of it.

HOW:
If you are flying in, Paris is where you want to arrive. From the U.K. you could drive in taking the Eurostar train to Calais.
Orville is located about two and a half hours drive north of Paris and is in the Picardie region of France. The best bet is to base yourself in the city of Amiens which is about 18.6 miles (30 kilometers) from the club. This is where the host hotels are located. You could also look for accommodations in the town of Doullens about 3 miles (5 kilometers) from the club. Doullens is a much smaller town than Amiens though.
The host hotels are located in Amiens. You will be able to book these at a special rate beginning on January 15, 2011. See the interactive map below for more.
